so all the graves are next to each other, some are a little off though to where it indicates on the map. Its very overgrown all that area so its hard to see them all. But I just don't get where 4/87 would be.

Yes I think the empty squares represent a grave, I just don't know where id place the one im looking for... Out of all the cemetery maps ive looked at ( and that's a lot) this is the only one where the numbers aren't in order which is frustrating.

I was searching like yourself around 6 months ago, I discovered that st chad cathedral in Birmingham City centre hold catholic burials, the archivist works thursdays/fridays, if you send an email she can check for you. All other burials if not on the Birmingham City website, the library in town...

Just wanted to share this :) as you’ve all helped me piece together who Alfred was, and that he wasn’t actually a foster but took the name. My cousin went over to France today to find him :)

Yes his headstone and the plaque both say foster, but as some repair work is being made to the plaque thought it would be nice to also make note of the other surname. But as cannot be sure on it, better not :)

It says father of solider deceased. we know he wasn't as he had another family didn't he? but they may not of known that.
