    Weather: Winter snow 1967/68 or 1968/69

    I remember walking from tyseley to nechells which was about 6 miles , the snow covered the top of my wellintons. When I arrived at school there was about 3 children and one teacher there.

    Harborne: The Grove

    And pictures of yewdale house which was next to the grove and field house back in 1881. My relative worked at yewdale for the tarbolton family. The husband died aged 32 so his wife moved to 29 Victoria road harbourne.

    I lived in Bloomsbury street from 1960 to 1967 when we had to move as they were demolishing the whole street.

    In 1881 a relative of mine worked as a cook in Yewdale which was my grove lodge and the Grove. James hicks,Elizabeth and henry aged 3 lived at the grove lodge. William,Mary and Cecily lived at the grove. My relative worked for the Tarbolton family.

    There were two entrances to the white lion pub at the front where the posh part was, many people off the telly would drink in there.     Bomb Pecks

    We always called the short cut at the top of Bloomsbury street a bomb peck we would run across it to the library ,one time it must of rained heavily and of our friends got stuck in the mud we pulled him out but his Wellington boot was stuck fast and he had to go home without it.
