    Yorke House School School Road Hall Green

    One friend went there in the late 60s, just before it closed. He's always banging on about it - said the headmaster at the time, Mr Millington, kept peacocks roaming about the grounds, which sounds a bit mad looking back.

    Abe Green's Betting shop in Balsall Heath

    My dad told me about that place back when I was a kid, said it was a proper busy old-school bookies on the corner there in Balsall Heath. Used to be full of lads putting on slips and the buzz inside.
