    I have to agree Lady P, what year span did your inlaws live in Prince Albert street I might have known them :) I noticed on google maps that the left hand side there were now no houses where our shop and the neighbours houses once stood

    Afraid your wrong there David, my parents were caretakers for the practice lived in the house attached to the surgery. My Mum was also the receptonist :) this was in the 50's - 60's I was 14 at the time. Dr Jone's wife along with his 8 year old young daughter were killed in a car accident on...

    Hi Lyn have come across another photo which I can see the tree that was in our front garden, Horse and cart hide any fencing I am thinking this is older than the one you found I have spent hours on my project I hope my perseverance will bring results.

    Yes we moved to the big house I believe it changed to a Turf Accountant before it also was demolished. I have photo's of my sister and I outside the shop that Carl Chinn used for one of his books. I will post them to you :)

    Mom in white coat smaller of the 2 Doctor Bowens retirement, Mom and dad in the yard of the big house one of my mom outside the shop we lived in before moving to the big house next door, the building behind her was the Victoria Pub.

    Y Hi Lynn R I agree, the inside where we lived was amazing, It was a surgery when I was 7 in 1950 and I do believe it was some years before that but we did not move to the shop which was right next door to the Vic Pub until I was seven. we moved to the surgery when I was 13. I wish I knew...
