Thanks Shera, that's really useful. I think I have tracked down John & Elizabeth Mace in 1841 and John & Mary Mace in 1851, and have an idea that Mary & Elizabeth are sisters from Bromsgrove, and that fits them rather nicely into my family tree :)))) Its a pity they didn't record the fathers...

Thanks Aidan, I do check pilot search and the IGI routinely, as well as Free Reg and anything else I can think of first! I have some ideas with these as to whom the father's are but it would be nice to get confirmation. Cheers Lesley
