I was also in Clive Tudmans group and on the same course 151. Heard through the grapevine one of my group got sacked as a lecturer from Halesowen college for hitting a student. I ,m now retired after a very happy time in the catering industry.

On reflection Silvermere was a very large site especially for secondary schools, the sports facilities being substantial for the time. Fitted inside the running track was a full size hockey pitch. Seem to remember we had a full time groundsman to boot

Seem to remember you had a half term exam session without class positions and then term end placed you in your class with the option of progressing from a "B" class up to an "A" class also the other way. Class sizes read from 40 - 45...

Hi Allen seem to remember Fred Hares was a radio operator in Lancasters so the story goes, anyone add any information to that. Took us for Science lessons in the room just up from the woodwork room that was down a corridor off the main entrance. What class were you in..?

No memory of that. Yes I retired last year aged 67 after spending all my career in catering. Worked in some quite good class restaurants & hotels, was a head chef at 19, got sacked a couple of times but also stayed 6-8 years in a couple of restaurants that I loved in & around the midlands...
