    Pinballs in Cafes

Bridie's cafe on the Coventry Road, opposite Small Heath Park, had a number of the Bally Bingo machines. You are right, they were addictive. I (mis)spent much of my teenage years and limited finances on those machines! Happier days meant going home with a pocket full of tanners.

    Bartley Green.

Thanks Dinger- That's exactly how I remembered it. I'm amazed that it has lasted so long!! We lived in the newly built council houses in Bickington Road, so it was only a short walk to the "annexe". Peter

    Bartley Green.

Was there an old chapel in a shed-like building on Jiggins Lane? It was between Modbury Avenue and the Cock Inn. I'm pretty sure that it was linked to the old church of St Michael's. I remember going to Sunday school there in the mid 1950's. Peter

Everton vs Villa 1959 - Sports Argus query

When I was a newspaper boy in the 60's I used to deliver two sports papers on Saturday nights. One was the "Argus" and the other was the "Blue Mail" otherwise know as the "Sports Final". Would this be relevent? Pete

Small Heath - Coventry Road - Watts Road junction Co-op Chemists. On the third photo, dated 1968, the main store is just visible further up the road to the left. These are probably some of the pictures lost from an earlier post...
