Does anyone know if Sutton Coldfield Borough Council Planning Committee minutes are held in the Central Library? I'm interested in seeing the Gracechurch application, apparently approved in 1969.

From the RSC Local History Stories on FB. I wonder where Coldfield Hill was?

Apologies if not new. I'd not seen it before. I live nearby. Taken 1928. The first match on the bowling green was 11/05/29, pavilion just visible, bottom left. I think the turf may have come from the grassed area, middle left. Shows the train turntables on what is now the carpark. Interesting...

Planning application 2025/01891/PA, a resubmission for the previously approved design for the Rosie OB site contains a useful heritage statement detailing the history of the site. Quite detailed. See 'associated documents', page 2.

They look similar to the picture on p4 of this thread. Fortunately different to those in Sutton-in-Craven.

This talk, at p42 contains a poor quality map from 1866 showing the route of the new line and Sarah Holbeche's house. Unfortunately the Hart/White Hart is not visible. https://sclhrg.org.uk/research/original-research/2210-sarah-holbeche-talk-by-janet-jordan.html

Thanks Lady P. Emmanuel College and Vesey School seems right. This is from Sarah Holbeche’s diary, March 1855: ‘Carpenter Holbeche left opposite house and it became "The White Hart" (disgusting). Mr Cull became our next door neighbour.’...

From the typeface the Shoulder of Mutton is a piece of land, not a building. Does anyone know what the abbreviations E.C. L.H. V.S.L. and A.H. mean?

Lady P, thanks for investigating further. Some thoughts. Roger Lea references a pub called the White Hart, on the site of what is now the N-Legal building but this burned down in 1621. Perhaps a coincidence. It is a common pub name. Roger Lea also states that Miss Bracken lived at Vesey House...
