We hold the records of Birmingham Firemen from 1874 upto 1939/1940 with a few AFS & NFS records at the WMFS Fire Servie Heriage Museum at Ettington Road Aston .
The white hat covers are real they also had black covers, we have both types in the WMFS Museum at Ettington Road.
I'm not sure that the station in the photo is Ettington Road if you look at the photo you will see the back windows through the front ones, to the best of my knowledge you have...

To get a birth certificate for someone who was born less than 50 years ago you will need the exact date not just the year plus all the parents full names.

Thanks Lyn, My grandparents the Trueman's lived at 28 Sycamore Road they moved in in about 1935 and stayed there until being moved out when the Aston Exprees way was being built, nice picture of there house next door to the green grocers.

Thanks for the update on the Lad in the Lane, sad that it as come to this after being named the oldest pub in Birmingham what was that about saving our pubs and our heritage.
Can anyone give me an update on The Lad in the Lane, the building was owned by my mothers family in the 1760-1780s the Dawson Family it was during their ownership that it became a pub. Is it about to get saved or knocked down or fired.
Hi Aggie Sorry to have to contradict my good friend Two but i think the medal is the Queens South Africa medal with 3 bars, if you look close you will see Queen Victoria's head on the medal.
