Thank you all. I came to the same conclusion as Janice. His brother Owen joined the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and also seemed to turn his life around. Again my appreciation of the time you have all given my request for help. You never let me down. David

Janice, A Thomas Sankey seems to have spent time between 1903 and 1912 sleeping rough and being fined for it. I wonder if he is the same man who joined up in August, 1914, married in 1917 and settled down? Appreciate your views please? david

Astoness and Janice, Thank you for your wonderful results. I was equally confused by the Catshill reference on the 1921 Census. I followed the Catshill location back and because Thomas was a "nailer" I rejected this avenue. What I didn't find was the 1911 Census where he is now a "gardener"...

Help again please. Trying to find parents and any siblings and 1901 Census. POW files only show Mr Rea as next of kin and a birth date of 24 June, 1890. The 1939 Census shows year as 1892 which ties in with 1921 Census. Found marriage details, 1, December, 1917. Wife Nellie and address ties in...

Stewart, Hopefully some of the information above was useful to your history. Do you by any chance have any photos of your Great Grandfather so I can put a face to the name? David

Janice, POW papers are just when captured, Regiment, birth and next of Kin etc. Lyn, His number suggests an enlistment date of 1916. Da Lyn, No he was a Territorial and he was renumbered in 1917. David

Janice, Lyn, Thank you. Frederick and his sister Edith A both disappear. Edith A is living with her Mother Amy in 1945 at 14 King Edward Road. Frederick arrived home from Germany on 21 January1919 as I can not find any Pension card for him I assume he didn't die so soon after, but as I can't...
