We left Lawrence st June 8th 1959 and by taxi went to main rail station, all eight of us, five boys all born near Surrey and came to Lawrence st approx. 1955 Merril Gay was born 1954. We were the only house in street with our own backyard.
Duke st was only 30ft away, Mr pepper had little shop where dad Richard Gay bought our food every week, pub was right in Duke as we went downhill to Baths. My dad was in Merch.navy 12 yrs, then 6 in Army
