Mikejee, can you point me to any documentation relating to the founding in 1784 of the John Giles & Co you cite in post #4? The 1792 Charles Pye Plan of Birmingham still simply shows this as Giles's Brewery. In 1789 Sir Henry Gooch leased (further/) land for 21 years to John Giles of Greenwich...- mccarthygen
