    Birmingham museum records help?

HI, May be worth looking at the Birmingham Heritage week events, as The Bham Museum collection centre opens during this so that people can view some of the items held but not on display. They say they have 800,000 items so not sure if they might be able to assist with particular items, but...

    James Hall gunmaker

Hello Also seems little odd if 2 James baptised are both their offspring with same name! Know this was sometimes done if a child passed away to carry the name on but this doesn't seem to be case here because older one still around in 1830!

    Windermere Rd Park/ground Saved

So sad to see this. We walk here regularly with our dog, & I couldn't work out where it was? Particularly sad given all the hard work done here by volunteers.

    Bagley family, Birmingham, 1920s

Hi, Findmypast has a newspaper obituary for Edna in the Birmingham Post, 14th Feb 1972. Refers to her address 138 Portland Road, husband Noel and "dear mother of john" so seems to confirm that John was their only child. Noel died in 1991.

    1841 census

Just to mention.that Findmy past shows above entry as John & Mary PENHAM rather than Benham in case you use that site for your searches.

    1841 census

Hi Nicola, If you have access to ancestry, there is a John & Mary Benham at Lombard St. On the 1841 census which I think is very close to Pershore st? The census listing shows John aged 60, an iron founderer, Mary aged 55, & also a Mary Benham aged 20. There is also a Sarah Benham aged 65 on...

Hello Ancestry shows 1939 Kelly's directory listing for St. Ives Nursing home at 8 Hunton Road (which I think is just off Hunton Hill, Erdington). The listing names Miss E. Spencer & Miss F Cox (Presumably owners or managers). Google maps has a street view image at 8 Hunton Road which is a...

    Price, James

Hi Ancestry have a James Price b. 1887, in Warley on 1921 census. They have transcribed this as 4 Rottery Road, but I think may be Pottery Road. Living with his wife Sarah & daughter Olive. Could this be your James?

Thomas Bailey (1762-1842) Steel Toy maker and Seedsman/gardener of Henry Street, Ashted and Ashted Row Court

Hi Re Deadmore Road, there was a Deadmore Road in Handsworth, the name of which was later changed I think to Rookery Road. Did a search for Deadmore Road on National Archives which throws up a no of items held by Birmingham Archives for "Deadmore Road afterwards Rookery Road" which look to...

    Beauvoisin

Hi Just to check dates for her birth & Williams death, would this make Mary Imelda too late to be Williams daughter? Ancestry shows a family tree of a Mary Imelda Beauvoisin born in 1923 & sadly dying same year, but with parents as Francis John Beauvoisin and mother as Cooper. Francis looks...
