    Munitions Transported By Canal?

    Many years ago I was told by an old boatman that our ex Fellows, Morton and Clayton narrow boat was used to transport munitions in and around Birmingham during WWII. I'm sure this was likely, but can anyone verify that the canals were used in this way?
