I met Bill after he retired, he was working delivering flowers
for a shop in Hawthorn Rd, but this was only temporary I understand.
His brother kept the shop going for a while, but he ended up working
for another butchers, less pressure and strain.
I seem to recollect now, I think when Phylis was questioned about her German sounding name during WW2 she added an extra f? But not sure what difference that may have made.
I wonder she did not take Adkins name?
I understood that Phylis made arrangements so Vera would have a roof over her head as her own health deteriorated, whether this was a will or deed transfer by solicitor I am not sure. I was trying to find out if Phylis had any family.

I was wondering from how long the two ladies had lived together in Birmingham.
I know they told me that they had a house near a church halfway down Boldmere Rd for a long while, with a bus stop outside their front door, where people used to sit on...
