    Brookvale Park & Witton Lakes

Is it the "Eco Hub" Jackie? Pictured below, with details of what activities are currently available in the link. Link: https://wittonlodge.org.uk/2023/10/18/whats-on-at-witton-lakes-eco-hub/

    Golden Lion Cannon Hill

Nice to see it almost up and running again. I hope the use it will be put to will be one that all visitors to the park can use. A cafe, pub or visitor centre would be better used, than something that would suit the council's rather woke tendencies.

School located in 1960 near Lindrosa Road, off Hardwick Road, Sutton Coldfield.

Yes, I remember the school being there. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a photograph of it anywhere, other than the 70 held by the Walsall Archives, which you mention above. The school was much like many Edwardian schools that were built in Birmingham and Walsall in the 1900's (the 2nd...

    Ghost signs of Birmingham

I'm living in one of the bungalows, that were built where that school once stood.

Slade Road The Slade Gravelly Hill

"The Slade" was what we called the school and the road itself, as I recall it. Here is another picture taken at the top of the road (where Spaghetti now is), taken in the 20's that is titled "Slade Road Junction":

    Aston Villa history

Looks like late 60s to me. That Witton Lane Stand was built for the World Cup. That's the stand that was opened for the reserve matches and I went to more than a few back then too. What a game that was at White Hart Lane, we were 5-1 down just after half time, what a recovery. Goal scorers that...

    sore throats

I was always given hot lemon juice to drink. Everyone else would have a spoon of honey too, but I never could stand honey. Eating raw onions was also prescribed, but my favourite "cure" by a long chalk was ice cream (although they all worked pretty well)....

    New Street City Centre Birmingham

I use a walking stick myself and struggle with walking/balance as it is, without having to try to negotiate those barriers they have put up. I don't think they gave a thought to those of us that aren't as mobile as we were, when they decided to put them up. I guess the idea is to stop cars...

    New Street City Centre Birmingham

This David? You have to get past these barriers from the station to get to that point (not so easy for the disabled and elderly): I'm sure it will all be worth it, eventually....

    Birmingham in 1960s

I'm the same as you. They say school's the best time of your life and looking back, I have to agree. I eventually did well with my examinations, but for most of my time football, rugby and cricket took the priority. We settled the occasional arguments mainly without coming to blows, but even...

    Scams via telephone, email 2026

There is nothing whatsoever for you to be sorry about Smudger. It is just so annoying that someone can do something like that, without a care for the impact that theft may have upon the person, from whom they stole the wallet/purse and in the knowledge that the chances of them being caught are...

Warren Farm Schools Golden Jubilee Book

A lovely memory of the school, for those that went there over the years. I wish my old school had done something similar for it's centenary in 2003. Thanks for posting it.
