Think I might remember your uncle Paul. I grew up in Soho Avenue, and lots of my friends lived in Vicarage Road, and I was always in that street playing as a child. Such lovely people lived there, and they were all almost like extended family. Knew your Nan too. She always kept a look out...

Agree Mike. Not that I ever saw Gothic Terrace as it had all been demolished by the time I knew about it. I had family living in Gothic Terrace (Court 25) and I have noted that it was described as back of 163 on one document. Judy

Not sure of the date but this is at the junction of Bull Stree/High Stret/Marineau Street/Dale End. I worked at a solicitor's officers on the first floor above Reece's Tobacconists in the late 50s.

There wasn't an Odeon cinema in Handsworth. The cinemas on Soho Road were the Regal, Grand, Elite. Further along was the Albion and the other way was the Palladium at Hockley, and the Villa Cross in Villa Road. I went to them all.

I used the tram No 6 going down Villa Road from the terminus at Soho Road in the 40s! Country Life was a magazine - I have pages copied from it by my granddad, showing Soho House way back
