    Many thanks for that mike-g. That puts it in perspective to Birmingham. Most of my research has been in south London, an area I know very well. Now I've come up against Blackheath and Durham, neither of which I know at all. I'm realising how much easier it is when you are familiar with the area...

    Thanks for the welcome everyone :) Mike - I didn't realise that Blackheath was in the Black Country - I'm not very familiar with this part of the country. Is Blackheath part of Birmingham or slightly outside? I'll try posting on there - thanks. Jennyann - thanks for that. I have seen that one...

    Does anyone know the names of the churches that were in the Blackheath area of Birmingham around 1900-1911? Also, where could I find a list of the vicars, vergers etc of those churches at that time?
