    Amazing, it was only until I looked at the 1899 map instead of the 1945 one it finally made sense. I thought I was a good investigator, but you're on the next level. So if this is indeed correct, the building in the center of the photo doesn't exist by 1945/1950s, but 56 indeed remains. Thank...

    My great grandfather, Thomas Cross lived with his family in Heneage Street in the 1920s. They lived at 3/56 which was the back to back houses, next to the Star Works factory. It would be interesting to see any more photos of the street.
