    LETTER ARRIVES OVER 100 YEARS LATE

    This was quite a common thing when I was with Royal Mail, people found old letters and popped them into a post box to see what happened. It was even more common with postcards.

    I remember changing the lamps in the front office about 1975/78 when I was an apprentice Post Office Engineer. We worked off tall stepladders and the globes were about 600mm diameter - scary.
