I like the idea of a brummie, the centre of world's industrial revolution. Yes my family has stayed in Brisbane since Walter George Ison immigrated from Birmingham area in late 1800s. Two generations below me born in Brisbane as well.
Just got internet back after nation wide Optus outage for 7 hours. Mobile phones still out affecting half of the population. Thank you Birmingham History Forum for the most wonderful family history tracing journey. I have not only got more results than expected (original enquiry was for one...
Another question for the experts. I thought I was finalised with Amos Ison and Sarah Ann Clarke. I began entering detail successfully until John Jehu Ison. He appears in the family in the 1851 census.

Janice, processing the new images from you. John Izson 14 May 1775 baptism parents John and Sarah brother of my ancestor William. Do you have a church for John's baptism.
Thanks.
Nice try Janice. Maria, her last daughter was baptised 17 May 1829, at Nether from the record that you gave me. Mary possibly died at the time of Maria's birth. William was pretty much immediately with Sarah Dickson nee Cook. Their first child William Richard Ison was born 25 May 1830 from the...
Thanks MMS. I have adjusted the baptism day date for William Izon to b13 Jul 1777 from 18 Jul 1777 which is what FreeReg UK has. And included the image in the Wikitree profile.
I have added Mary Minerva Ison (thanks). Her birth and death is in GRO. Her birth name there is Mary Mernerra. Her...
Sort of Janice. I am using the technique of looking at the image then printing it as a pdf then converting it back to a jpeg. But this one has star bursts on it. Funny.
So Janice, this is the brother of William B 1777 with the three wives? and gives us parents John and Sarah. Notice yet another (fairly common) spelling of Ison as Izson.
I have Mary Smith born Born 4 Sep 1803 in Birmingham, Warwickshire. In 1828 she would be 25 at death in Nether Whitacre 30 May 1828. The date is near enough to her last child's baptism, Maria Ison, 17 May 1829. That a Mary in Nether died about the time of Mary Smith's last child is significant...
