    Longbridge Factory

Thanks, Lyn. I have the Navy records and some info about the burial, not sure I have found the probate information yet so will get that checked out on ancestry, thank you.

Thank you for your thoughts, I agree with you… I think the person in the picture must be someone else.

Hi Lyn, I am wondering if the chauffer picture is not connected to Bertie. My Nana's aunt's husband, Walter Grove, is described as being a chauffer on his daughter's death certificate which I received today. Looks as if he died in 1908 though... I don't suppose you could give me your thoughts on...

    Black country/Birmingham "mystery" church

Hello, I want to update to say I believe this church is Christ Church the Quinton. Information online suggests the porch was extended in the 1920s, but I picked up a copy of '"The Quinton" A Century in Birmingham 1909 - 2009' by Bernard J. Taylor which shows a visiting Bishop at this door in...

    Dudley Road

Thank you - it looks as if structures around it are being knocked down. Hopefully someone can save it.

    Dudley Road

Sorry, Lyn - it is the Dudley Road Police Station, I thought I was replying to a thread about it.

Does anyone have an update on this building in 2025?

Very interesting - did not know that. The video is gone from YouTube but I believe you :)

    Black country/Birmingham "mystery" church

Thanks, Lyn - yes, it's certainly a difficult one. I may have to order a fair few certificates to narrow it down as it's proving trickly to find this exact door. Thank you for taking a look though.

    Black country/Birmingham "mystery" church

Hi Lyn, unfortunately not. I am hoping that getting a positive identification of the church would help. I don't believe they're my grampy's siblings as they got married before the '30s or emigrated, but their children would be too young. I've tried looking for cousins to help, but no luck yet.

    Black country/Birmingham "mystery" church

Not sure if this sort of question is permitted on here, but thought I'd ask if anyone is able to identify what church the door in the below images belongs to (estimated to be taken mid-to-late 1930s)? I'm fairly confident it is somewhere in the Black Country/Birmingham. The smiling gentlemen in...

    Longbridge Factory

Hi Lyn, Sorry for the delay in replying to you. I don't know where the car photos are taken, unfortunately. My grandad always lived around the Shell Corner area of Halesowen, but I've not spotted anything that matches the houses in the photos around there (I don't live in the area so it is...

Help with identifying this Black Country/Birmingham church.

I hope this is the sort of thing permitted to post here. I am tracing my dad's family tree, most of his immediate family are from Halesowen, Rowley Regis and Quinton, but some threads stray closer to Birmingham itself. I have found a box of photos with places and people that I can't match up...

    Longbridge Factory

My grandad, Bertie Fred Bolton of Halesowen worked at Longbridge for many years as a press tool maker, sadly dying as a result of a work accident in 1954. I've found some family photos, two were presumably taken at the Longbridge plant. The others are of two cars (one with my grandad in the...
