Good to see you looking well and enjoying one of Wye Valley Brewery's excellent products.

As far as I recall it stopped after the school moved . There was no similar location where sherrins could be penned in.

And having been herded into said hole, unaware of what was to follow, were bombarded with whatever detritus older pupils had to hand. Not a pleasant experience!

I seem to remember that Velocette motor cycles were made on the same site as Charles Hill's factory. Also, my less than totally reliable memory places MEM at the corner of Reddings Lane and Olton Boulevard West.

I remember Paynes but nothing around the corner in Summer Road. However I do remember turning right into Shaftmoor Lane where Guest's the barber was. Mr Guest also repaired umbrellas. His assistant Ron Osborne usually cut my hair and, many years and a few house moves later, I ended up living...

Just found a reference and location plan of a WW2 Heavy Anti -Aircraft Gun site where the Robin Hood Camp site is shown on the map posted earlier. I wonder if anyone has a family memory of this.

The Golf Course clubhouse was opposite the Gospel Oak pub before it was relocated to the other side of the...

I'd forgotten about the Railway Mission next to the bridge and there was Fraser the fish and chip shop just along from Greens.

I remember some of the shops at the Fox Hollies end of Spring Road . Len Minton greengrocer, Horniblows drapers?, Greens butchers Bowsteads newsagent. Also an off-licence and sweet shop near to the railway bridge

I remember trying to play on the courts at the old school but there was no booking system and we were usually evicted by older boys. When we moved to Kings Heath there was a booking system but by then other interests had taken over. Google Earth shows one of the Camp Hill courts still in use...

Brings back memories. Can’t place Polly Bates’s companion. Could it have been Bert Blackshaw who taught German ?
