I lived at 393 Bolton Road before the houses were demolished in the early 1970's - while I lived there all the houses at the back had already been knocked down when I was living there and it was like a bombpeck area. If I remember correctly these houses were pulled down around 1974.

My mum used to buy boxes of broken biscuits off the milkman I am sure (in the late 60's and 70's) we had a milkman called Dennis for years - and it was really weird cause when we moved house and then got doorstep delivery of milk etc.. we had same milkman again - it was like he moved with us...

I can remember what Stitcher was saying about all those lovely houses on St Bernards Road and the Solihul end etc..and the golf course - spent hours there collecting...
What a shame this is - I used to know this area quite well during the late 1970's - it never seemed a bad area then at all - I have some very fond memories of this area.
I'd bet they'll build on the site - if they've just redone the pub and trade has declined etc.. the land will be worth more...
