    Having re-read your comments, I understand where Lime St is most likely to have been, current King St, off Downing St. Thank you for your help.

    Thanks for your research everyone. I note the census states "Downing St, west side - No's 7-33 [which exist on later numbered map], Mornington Rd, Pope St, Oak St [which doesn't seem to exist in any maps], Lime St" So, this suggests Oak St is connected to or close to Mornington St, and...

    Hi, I wonder if anyone can assist in identifying where 26 Lime Street, Smethwick (Sandwell/West Bromwich) was or is, please. I just can't find it on any new or old maps and general google searches (closest is Lime Grove currently exists). An ancestor, William Mason appears in the 1901 Census...
