    And yes the wine bar on Corporation Street was Hawkins. It was hugely trendy with a dance floor and all sorts. Now it is a chicken restaurant... Be nice if it went back to being a trendy wine bar IMHO

    Just joined the forum as i saw this thread and wanted to post a link.. there is a BOOK with the Hostaria wine bar (and a lot about 1980s birmingham in it). Well worth a read. The hostaria was a new romantic place and people like boy george and kahn and bell went there. Its all in the book...
