I have read the really fascinating posts about David Trevor. I previously knew nothing about his life and career.
His Daughter Constance b. 1881 was married to my Great Uncle, Tom Adey in 1908. The name Trevor was given to their first Son as a second name,John Trevor Adey.
In 1942, F R Davenport left in his will to B J Davenport a painting by David Cox entitled The End Of The Day.
I have not been able to locate a picture of this on line.
I love this quote from the film, This Happy Breed when the character Frank Gibbons says to his wife Ethel after her Mother dies. “ she didn’t pass on, pass over, or pass out! she died!”
As far as I am aware the ‘new’ Davenport brewery company has no connection with the original Davenport family.
Eustace Bromley Davenport 1907- 1992 was the last Davenport on the board when the company was taken over by Greenhalls. He then resigned his position. He was my 3rd cousin 2x removed...
I haven’t come across this before on a 1911 census.
Total children born alive 7.
4 Children alive. 3 Children died. However the 3 children had died before the census, Ivy 1903, Henry 1906 and Rose in 1909.
Hello Clare. My Granduncle, Wilson George Meddings b.1887. Married Mabel L Ward b.19-12-1893 ( parents Frederick & Emma) in 1918 at West Bromwich. They had two children, Desiree b.1920 & Honore b.1922 .
