I owned the newsagent shop from approx 1973 till 1983 ish. The other photos are of the yard between the newsagents and the cafe where 2 brothers ran a carpentry business. There was wood being seasoned on racks which was not used till it had been there for 7 years...

I seem to remember a photo of a full size house on top of a building I think was by the hippodrome.
I cannot find anything about it and now doubting myself would anyone know of it

They were living there at the time of the 1911 census which was the April and the coronation was in June.

This was a shop owned by my father and initially run by my eldest brother and then my elder sister.
it was 2 three bed terraced houses joined together. we used to play hide and seek in the house as there were so many rooms. I also watched the 1966 World Cup final in the lounge at the back.
