    Savings Stamp schemes in schools

    Hi brummie nick, This was in 1970, I think. I remember our maths teacher Mr Fred Potter used to run the the school bank during lunch time weekly and I did saved a pound and opened a bank account. I cashed it in 5 years later at the TSB. The interest was almost nil.

    I went to Brooklyn Technical college in the late 1970's. Do you remember the mature staff, Miss Hill who was a hippy or dressed like one? She taught English Literature.

    Boulton Road (Boulton County) Primary School, Handsworth

    Hi Robby63, I went to Boulton Road School on Boulton Road (and Babington Road entrance) and the back of the school was on Dora Road between 1968-1970, I think.     Correction jim1uk2001.m Handsworth Wood Girls Secondary School. Mrs Clara Hinchcliffe was the headmistress from 1960? - 1980? I think I heard some gossips in the school playground in the 1970's that her husband was a headmaster (school unknown)

    Hi Vivienne14. How are you keeping? This photo I have never seen before, especially with Mrs Clara Hinchcliffe. I remember her now. The Birmingham Post, had an obituary on her: "Pioneer headteacher dead" headlines. Her daughter called the school Handsworth Grammar School for Girls!!!
