Thanks MWS. It's not a tangent at all. It's just the picture I'm trying to build up of the Sears. I envy your skills, and sources!

    Sear

The Sear family of Kings Heath, Kings Norton and Bromsgrove feature in my genealogy. They appear to have been involved in haberdashery in the city centre and butchery in Kings Heath. There is a possible link with the family of the successful jeweller Frederick Banks that I should like to clarify.

I'm so grateful for all the information you have put my way. With it I've made a lot of progress. I was surprised over AAS senior's first tragic marriage, and even more so at his rapid remarriage. I suspect Emma died in childbirth, perhaps along with her daughter, or shortly afterwards of...

He was living in Birmingham from the 40's and ran a fish & ship shop, possibly in the Digbeth or Sparkhill area. He was born c. 1903, possibly in Olney, and died c. 1969 while living in Kings...

    Aston Technical College

I did A levels @ATc 1967. Remember very well lecturers Roger Lavelle, Barbara Heritage, amongst others. Relished semi-micro analysis with pupils from Holte Grammar School, and practical biology (dissecting the rat, cockroach & earthworm) at the Victoria Street annex.
