    Restaurants In Birmingham 1960s

During Covid lock down 2020 when we couldn’t go anywhere I would do a Saturday night “not going out dare night”. Each “date” had a different theme, Italian, French, American diner, etc. Re created Berni Inn and served prawn cocktail, sirloin steak and chips and English Sherry trifle for...

    HATTON - Thomas.

We had great family gatherings with all of the cousins resulting from the family of Thomas and Providence. I was born in 1947, third child of Rosetta and Colin (Price). Sadly all aunts and uncles are now deceased.

    Hatton Thomas Welwyndale Road Sutton

I wonder if my father in law, Stanley Arthur Jephcott might have been called upon that night to be part of the rescue. He was in the AFS based at the Fox & Goose Fire Station. See attached picture, framed memories of Stanley, in the picture he is with his colleague, Bill Tandy, on right of...

    Hatton Thomas Welwyndale Road Sutton

My grandad, Thomas Hatton was one of the fatalities. When reading through the full report the reference to Millington Road was another link to me as my husbands family, Jephcott, lived at no. 82 at that time.

    The Gate Pub Saltley

When I was a young girl I used to babysit for the landlord and landlady, John & Muriel Skinner, their little daughter Lesley. I just recall bare boards a bit rough. I’d sometimes make cheese and onion sandwiches for bar food! Probably 1961-‘62

    Marston Green Hospital

Comment. From CK51 regarding matron at Marston Green Maternity, Mildred Maxwell. A formidable lady indeed. She ruled not only the nurses with a rod of iron but the whole work force (I was a lab technician). But she did throw exceptional staff “dos” I recall one held at Elmdon Hotel by the...
