Thank you for that, would I be right in assuming Coronet Cameras Of Summer Lane be the 'camera works' on the map?

That's much bigger than I thought it would be and I'm surprised it has survived when so much around it hasn't.

It does however leave a gap between 1906 and 1950. This is where I think more of the Gee family were more involved.

Hi, my relative George Henry Thomas Gee (b.1854 d. 1931) worked in the above company in 1921 and a listed as 'Employer' in the census. The probate records in 1931 listed two of his sons as recipients of a sum of money and as working for the same company (I assume). He was the son of Thomas Gee...

I tend to agree. Lily would have been 40 at the time of Margery's birth. Not unusual necessarily but given the nature of her trauma of the last two children I doubt she or George would have had another. Besides, the other three daughters never saw her again and I doubt George would have hidden...

Thank you very much of doing that Lyn but I complicates matters a little. The initial family story I have, which came from the son of Ellen / Helen / Nellie daughter of Lily, states that she was I the care of the sisters until she was 16 years old, 1920. I'm afraid I have no way of verifying...

I've just been reading up about the attitudes to mental health in 1911 and it's not good. Postnatal depression wasn't recognised yet and society (male) wouldn't have understood what she must have been going through, bless her. It's so very sad for all concerned. Thank you for your help in this...

I agree, I suspect that the 'disappearance' was probably fictional and that she probably stayed in the workhouse for some time. That would also explain why the other children had to go into St. Josephs.

I can confirm that you are correct Maz - I've downloaded the two certificates :- It would appear that George only survived for two days and was born and died in the workhouse in Western Lane. Lily and George must have been completely distraught, especially coming so soon after the death of Eva..
