I've just 'signed-up' to this site. I didn't find it easy.
I lived in Bartons Bank (between Potters Hill and Whitehead Road) from about 1847 to 1961. I went to Albert Road Primary School (which later became Prince Albert's, I believe). I had two older brothers, (John and Barry) and two older sisters (Rose and Beryl). I went to Handsworth Grammar School (clever clogs). My brothers went to Gower Street.
In Potters Hill was a Greengrocer's called Henneys (run by Scott and Rose).
I Learned to swim at Victoria Road swimming baths.
On the corner of Potters Hill and Bartons Bank was a baker's shop called Griffins. In Bartons Bank was a coal yard owned by Greaves family.
