Yes, I knew it had been but I only saw the photo a short while ago and it did upset me. I believe the flats built there have also been demolished.

These are the only photos I have found. The first one is our shop in the process of being demolished ☹️

No, that was Mrs Harrison’s shop. Ours was painted red I think and was on the corner across the road from the school.

It would be great if someone could put them on again. I would have loved to see them. I lived in the corner shop in waterworks street and went to Aston Hall Rd school just over the road.

Remembering more now…there was Mrs Vacher and Miss Fitch (German)…we went to her wedding! Some...

I was there 1966-69. Lived over the road in Waterworks Street. Did you know Ivor McGuiness? Lived next door to me and had younger sister Rosie? Would have been there when you were I think. Shame all the photos have gone.

Meant to comment not copy the post sorry. I was on what was probably the last trip the Ribble took as we went under a bridge too far over and scraped the roof. That must have been about 1975. The hostal was Corris. The head was Mr Neal, deputy Mr Conker and Mr Gee was there for many years…such a...
