Yellow Cab

hi froth
yes that car is a good looker
its privately owned and i have seen it many times
in the pass and it usaly in the lord mayors proccession
along with all other types of cars and the floats
other wise you don,t normally see it about
i remember there was a taxi firm in constition hill
that tryed that idea of yellow cabs but it did,nt work out
and they was over the top with there prices
so they dropped that one
and tryed the red car theme but they did not work out
either, but that particular yellow cab was not one of those
previuos ones of the yellow taxi hire
that belongs to some-ones private collection of cars
speaking of taxi cars do you remeber a taxi firm
called z cars they was up by the sutton new rd
and chester rd by the traffic lights
they was related to a family by the name of phelps
the taxi firm owners was not phelps but cousins to them
i beleive but the phelps was related to us
best wishes astonion, ;;;;;;

Michael used to drive a stretch one of those. Apparently it was made for the Budwiser adverts. I will try and find a photo!:)

Good to see the New York Yellow Cab. Built by the Checker Cab Co. they were the equvalent of our Black Taxis. Type in Checker Cabs on the old search engine for loads of info including from Wikipidia with photos like this one.

This is the onw Michael used to drive for a chap in Streetly. It was popular for hen nights:rolleyes::)

As my husband says if you can drive a lorry you can drive a limo. You just have to remember the steering wheel is on the other side!lol

My clever clogs of a son has just seen my post, his comment, " very carefully i should think," Kids. Jackie. :headhit:
