  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Here's a great photo of my grand father John Thomas Emery, third from left, the two boys are my dad Leonard, the shorter one, and my uncle Douglas Emery
about 1916. at the time this photo was taken my Grandfather had three boys away at war Bill, Fred, And Arthur. Bill died of wounds in 1918.John Thomas Emery 3rd left, boys leonard and doug.jpg
 
Wonderful photo, even the dogs are looking at the camera. What a lovely keepsake.

Thanks Michael - that's the best photo I think I have seen of Grandad Emery. The one I have is of him with Carole in the garden.
 
We had an allotment at Yardley Road around 1970. Our plot had the cemetery on two sides, often wondered if we were getting nourishment from that direction!
