WWII Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS) in Birmingham/Dudley

I’m wondering if you could suggest option that I can use to research the WWII Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS) in Birmingham/Dudley during the period of WWII (1939-1945).

The reason for my enquiry is that my grandfather was a Leading Fireman in either Birmingham or Dudley. His address was in Woverhampton Street, Dudley, Worcestershire.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register for Frank Graham Walter Booth (Worcestershire - Dudley CB - QHBI), it states that he was A.F.S Leading Fireman No ?? Volunteer.

Thank you for that. I do have a bit of information from my grandfather and from when we visited that area in 2012/13. I appreciate any information, in particular anything about the AFS as this seems hard to source. I am a member of Ancestry which also helps.
