Does anyone know of a workhouse or poorhouse that was situated near Kingsbury or Lichfield 1820's?
Was there an institution that looked after orphans and/or the destitute known as Brook Houses or Brook Cottages near Kingsbury same time?
 
Hi Sparkhill Boy.
There was a poorhouse/workhouse in Coleshill at that time but I don't know if its the one you are looking for. It was finally knoked down in the late 50's to make way for housing but I believe it closed in the late 20's.
I will try to find out if it's the one you mentioned.
 
There was definitely something like it in Kingsbury, near to the Brook that crosses the main road.
