This Sunday, 9th October, the Transport Museum Wythall are holding an event to mark 30 years since the bus service was deregulated and WMPTE became West Midlands Travel. The fleet was reduced in size and some garages closed while at the same time other operators were allowed to apply to operate services which resulted in the bus scene we have today, many different operators often in direct competition with each other.

There will be an opportunity to travel on old Birmingham (and other local area buses) buses dating back to the 1930's up until the late 1990's. Museum buses will provide a service to Wythall from the Alexandra Theatre, Suffolk Street Queensway at 10.30. An admission and all day running ticket costs £11 which includes travel on all the buses.
