I will be there too, talking about cholera in the Black Country and how clean drinking water saved thousands of lives.

This is an excellent local history book, that will appeal to both the railway enthusiast and people either researching or just interested in social history. Richly illustrated, following the grand trunk railway, the book describes both Birmingham and the Black Country, its places and its people as they were in the mid nineteenth century.

The publisher, Mapseekers is a small community orientated organisation who is an ideal resource for anyone thinking of writing about their own past and self publishing. They have the capacity to print on demand, therefore any budding author can get their book published with ease.

I was invited to read the original draft of this book last year, and honoured when asked to write the introduction for it. I have done this for no financial gain, because I wanted to support a local community orientated publisher.
