Whiteman Family Walsall

Interested to communicate with anyone working on Whiteman families in Birmingham - my great great grandfather was Joseph Whiteman born in Walsall around 1832. He subsequently moved to Northampton and changed his name to Hodson (see post in Surname H). The family have many links with Birmingham returning there eventually in the 1880's, but were called Hodson by then.

Many thanks.

I am part of Joseph Whiteman's family through his son Thomas. I was interested to read your thread since I had no idea of name change to Hodson. Thomas Whiteman is my great great grandfather. I can't find out what happened to him after Felicia's death until he married Elizabeth Sear. Their son William Arthur (known as Arthur) was my grandfather. The family settled in Northampton and I still live in the county. I can't find Joseph's birth record so would be interested to make contact.

Also researching Whitemans in Birmingham and Northampton. We must be distant cousins and share Joseph as great great great grandfather.
