Hi all
I am new to this site and am looking for info on my ancestors. Frederick Calver was a licensed victualler (landlord ?) at the White Swan pub in what was known then as the jewellery quarter, Birmingham I think it may have been Water Street. he was there in the census of 1891. His wife was elizabeth (nee parker).
Frederick & elizabeth Calver had a daughter called Harriett who was my granny. She married Thomas Butler in July 1900 whom I think she met at the pub when he was a barman working there. My grandad is very elusive and I never met him as he died in 1933, well before my time and I have never seen a photo of him either. I was hoping that maybe someone has some photos of same - good if it was a staff photo with the landlords.
Elizabeth's mother was also a licensed victualler but at what could be the Roebuck Inn, 40 ludgate hill, birmingham after her husband died. this is listed on the 1881 census.
Any information on the above would greatly be appreciated as I have exhausted all other avenues that I can think of.
Thanks to Mike J for guiding me to the correct area for my pub query and apologies in advance for this long winded request.
Kind regards
