  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

I like watching stuff on the bbc iplayer, also the itv hub and c4. Walter presents is good on c4, I like the european dramas.

But, I've got through a lot of programmes, sometimes I have bad nights due to IBS.

What do you watch?
 
I used to suffer from IBS too, Kat, and still do to a lesser extent. But I have lived in Crete for the last 14 years and we don't watch TV at all, not that I was much of a watcher when I lived in the UK. To be honest I much prefer the interaction that I get from the internet. I'm also deaf, so watching something on TV without subtitles is not easy, even though I use high quality closed back headphones.

Glad to hear your IBS is not as bad. And I can quite easily not bother with the tv, but it takes my mind off being in pain. My IBS is under control but it still gives me problems.
 
i like to watch the old classic comedy sit coms ...easy to watch and not full of doom and gloom as i think there is enough of that in the world already..very rarely watch the news or buy a newspaper either...at the min i am watching on the buses:):):)

I watch mostly crime stories, BBC Parliament (shows that not many MPs are charlatans) and science based stuff.
Can't abide soaps of any description.
 
Nope, soaps don't do it for me either. Everyone seems to be at each others throat and shouting.

One channel I’ve been watching lately is PBS America. It recently put out a series about the American civil war which I found most interesting. It’s on channel 94 in my area but the strange thing is I can receive it on my main tv but not on my kitchen tv even when I rescan.
 
I like the bbc archive programmes. I watched a really interesting architecture programme, plus Arena programmes are interesting.

I watch a lot of PBS America too. Some very good documentaries. I`ve also downloaded a load of Benny Hill clips from Youtube which i shall be watching on Christmas day. ( Wife`s away visiting son for a week & i miss the old trout! ):(
 
YouTube is really good now for showing complete series from years gone, at the moment I'm watching all the prisoner episodes (Patrick McGoohan) the TV now is pretty poor I'm not surprised that people are still turning to the old classics especially the old British comedy shows

ive been doing that for a few years now ade...thanks for the idea i may watch the prisoner again..mind you i could never figure it out years ago:rolleyes:

I only watch the 6pm news, documentaries that interest me, or some film that interests me, mainly watch things on firestick.
 
Some great documentaries on PBS America (ch 94), but the ads are dominated by BT & i have to mute the sound otherwise i`d throw something at the tele. Grrrrrrrrrr. NCIS, CHICAGO PD, CHICAGO MED, A&E, + anything medical + helicopter rescue. lifeboat. Can`t stand the miserable sods in Eastenders.
 
I find that most of the medical programmes, especially A&E have become pretty boring, too many 'talking heads' and not enough of the medics.
 
Probably all of the antiques programmes (though the voice-overs are quite annoying), ufos, supernatural stuff -- but not the phony ghost hunt things, good movie thrillers, ancient Egypt and Agatha Christie, especially Poirot.
 
I watch very little TV and what I do watch is usually BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4 because I cannot stand adverts, they used to be every half hour for 3 minutes, they are now every 15 mins for 5 minutes - 20 minutes every hour. I do occasionally record old films on FV 81, Talking Pictures, mostly black and white, some I have seen before, films like Great Expectations, Hobsons Choice etc... Yesterday I recorded The Four Feathers (1939) which I will watch this evening with a tot (or 2) of Drambuie I was given for Christmas. Eric
 
Quizzes, love them.Nature films and OF COURSE Peaky Blinders.
I too like to watch old comedy shows ,watched Ronnie Barker in Porridge recently
and realised how bad some of the modern comedy shows are.
Can't beat Porridge,Rising Damp, Dads' Army and Last of the Summer Wine, well this has given my age away,lol Alberta.

What channel is Boon on? . Interested as I knew Mick Elphick as a teenager
 
"Antiques Roadshow" is an absolute must for me.
They've just started a dramatised version of "Les Miserables" (no singing, yaaay !) and the first episode showed promised.
They showed a clip of Billy Connolly doing his "incontinence pants" sketch the other night. I hurt myself laughing, again.
Did anyone watch "Versailles" a couple of months ago ? Excellent.

drama channel. met him once,in a pub. Neil Morrissey he used to be at santa pod with us he was a nice bloke. made a daft video.called vampire motor bike. lol
 
I haven't watched TV for about seven years now, I just couldn't take any more soaps, reality shows, talent shows or the ever increasing amount of time taken up by adverts I do however have most of the streaming services so I can watch what I choose when I want to without being interrupted by inane adverts.

I used to chat with Michael Elphick nearly every day for about three weeks he couldn't have been doing much work at the time, being the length of time it took us to do some groundworks on a new build site at the back of his pub The White Swan at Henley in Arden. The only reason I was there was because the contract said that there needed to be a supervisor on the site, so I had a lot of spare time on my hands. He was a very nice chap, but seemed a little sad most of the time. This must have been in the mid 90's(I think).

Was this the one where the opening sequence was filmed at Snow Hill? Got £2.00 as an extra with about 50 other people to walk down from the booking hall, down the steps onto the Platform. Did it two/three times, all sent on our way. Rushed to see the film and the opening scene was the empty stairs......fame had passed me by. Although I thought it had a different title originally.
