Beaumanor Listening Station

not sure if this is the right place to post this query, but am sure someone will let me know:)
Grandad, James Latham, did not fight in WW2, he did "special work" in Coalville Leicestershire. He never spoke about it as it was top secret, but we assume it must have had engineering connections as he had been and continued to work at Dunlop. Does anyone have any idea what the work may have been?
Thanks, Sue

Hi sistersue61:

Your Grandfather could possibly have been involved in the work that went on at Beaumanor Park in Coalville, Leics. A stately home that was used by the War Office as a Wartime Communications tracking Station.A set up something like Bletchley Hall where the famous Enigma Code was broken. Here's the Wikipedia site: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaumanor_Hall Here is another site regarding WW2 and Beaumanor Hall https://webcache.googleusercontent....k-Beaumanor+Hall-WW2&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca
