Tudor Grange, Solihull - former home of Alfred Bird

I remember early 40's my Dad who was a carpenter for Bryant's the builders had an accident and was laid up so my Mom took a job as a cleaner at Alfred Birds house in Blossomfield Road about a mile from where we lived and she used to say what nice people they were and she frequently came home with various items of food they had given her (this was the time of rationing !) Hi,
I am a descendant of Alfred Lovekin, my great grandfather, or possibly x2. Who was the original owner of Tudor Grange. Somewhere in the family are photos of the house, I remember seeing them as a child. I will try and locate them and share

...and I a descendant of the second owner!

The 'Bird Family' intended the parkland to be used for the people of Solihull. When Solihull MBC wanted to run a road through the park and various (nefarious) other land grab intentions the Bird family protested but sadly the covenants (or lack of them maybe?) mean that no legal challenge could be made.

It was held in the family until recent times that a covenant existed but I don't have hard evidence of it being the case. A legal battle would have been costly with a low chance of success
