Tram Terminus at Stockland Green

There is discussion about the Stockland Green tram terminus in a thread see link below. The terminus was not near Perry Common Road.

The Plaza Cinema had been a landmark for most of my life andif it is still standing, it still is a prominent building on the corner of Streetly Road and Marsh Lane.

If you read the Stockland Green thread, link in post 2 of this thread, then posts 2 and 28 of the liked thread give some detail about the closure of the cinema.

Was the tram terminus at Stockland Green or was it down the hill at Perry Common Road?
The original route along Slade Road route was opened to the end of the shops in Stockland Green at the junction with Reservoir Road on 12 June 1912. It was numbered 1 in 1915. On 23 June 1926 the 78 route extension to Short Heath was opened on reserved track to the new terminus at Short Heath Road.

The 78 tram ran from Steelhouse Lane to Stockland Green from June 12 1912 to 1921 near the Public house and Plaza Cinema. In 1926 the service was extended to Streetly Road junction at the bottom of the hill, the service ceased in June 1953.
Because of the danger of roads crossing this dual carriageway a Red mandatory stop existed half way down the hill.
