Toffee Recipes anyone?

At 48 I'm prolly younger than some here and not a Pom, but had English / Scots grandparents ( sadly gone now) and have memories of all sorts of cakes, puddings, roasts and gingerbread every sunday at my Nan's as well as sweets when I was 10 or 12

One favorite was her toffee, jaw breaking stuff chilled and 1" thick, I know it was a few cups of brown sugar, caramelized some condensed milk etc but never really got the recipe also she made a soft taffy like version, any kind soul out there have these old home style recipes they would care to pass on?

My mouth is watering

I also seem to remember (fondly) many a breakfast in winter on Milk arrowroot biscuits in a bowl, a bit of hot water over them to make them hot & swell up and loads of condensed milk yummmm

anyone remember this sweetooth brekkie?

Cheers
