The Siren & The Seer

Oisin

gone but not forgotten
THE SIREN AND THE SEER

Breathing in deep, deep, breaths,
she emerged, water beaded,
glittering,
from the depths,
silhouetted by the moon,
humming an hypnotic tune
with her long black hair
hanging wet,
clinging to her shoulders,
dripping down her naked breasts.

And he could only stand and stare,
as with rhythmic movements of her flanks
she advanced towards the banks.
Wading through the shallows,
the instant that her knees
cleared the rushes and the reeds,
she lunged out of the shadows.

Then, as moonlit pearls wove crazy trails
down her cold and glistening skin,
she turned full frontal onto him.
It was when her hum became a wail
he decided not to swim
with a mermaid
that had no tail.

;D

very good - i thought it was going to be one of the figureheads emerging from the sea...........maybe a shipwreck being pulled out of the ocean?

 Great poem Ossie... Have I read that one or one similar on you site or am I going MAD?

That's wonderful Paul.  I thought it would be a siren - but no, a mere mortal hey? :) :)
