Had a quick look inside today as what little is left is being stripped out before conversion to apartments apparently. The Council have not been able to locate any planning application and I understand it is grade ll listed so what's going on???I have uploaded as much as I know about this pub at : https://www.midlandspubs.co.uk/birmingham/great-hampton-street/gothic-stores.htm
I’ve told the planners for what good that will do!hi brian i would imagine that what is going on is what usually goes on and not an eye is batted...planning applications are not always asked for and if this is the case with the old gothic i sincerely hope the council have been informed and are looking into it...

Email sent, I will do pics tomorrow cheersThe developer must obtain listed building consent for any work or alteration to a listed building. There shold be a conservation officer who will deal with any complaits relating to listed building. It would be a good idea to take phots if the ongoing work if you can. https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/...pply_to_make_alterations_to_a_listed_building
Lyn it's a travesty this with The Gothic , pity they can't get it back up and running as a pub . Mind you I don't like the garish colours outside . Knowing that this pub could change makes me wonder how safe would the Barton Arms be if it was ever to close again
