Talking Pictures

Every so often, they change the channels available on freeview. Earlier this year they added a new channel called Talking Pictures (channel 81). They run old (mostly British) movies and the odd TV show. Look at the schedule on the TV guide. You might see something you remember.

someone told me about this the other day but when i put on channel 81 the house of lords came up...not my favourite topic...i wonder if i need to re tune...any advise please...

Watched quite a lot on there. Good channel, all old B&W (mostly) films. Lots of films starring actors with awfully, awfully clipped accents daaaaarhling. Great stuff - and so of its time. Viv.

Hi Lyn, You definitely need to re-tune. BBC News 24 used to be on Channel 80 and Parliamentary News on Channel 81. They are now on Channel 231 and 232 respectively. This means that Talking Pictures can now be seen on Channel 81. I have been watching it quite a lot and find it very enjoyable. Interesting to see the street furniture of years ago as well as the stars. Dave.
